Project #9: Consentful Interface

Description

I created a interface attached to my experimental camera.

Design Process

My response to F.R.I.E.S definition is to create a calm visual interface that the user can accept and decline the activation of the experimental camera. I was inspired by Design Justice Network for their design using F.R.I.E.S. Their design was direct to the user acknowledging the terms of accepting their conditions and that it's their choice. I want to incorporate a background that makes the user appeal to accept the conditions of my experimental camera. My background color scheme would have a gradient from pink-white-pink because this article "Color Psychology: Does It Affect How You Feel?" stated psychologist describe certain colors affects a person's mind. For instance, "White: As many of our readers have suggested, the color white can feel fresh and clean. The color is often used to evoke a sense of youth and modernity.""Red: Dreaming of a red vehicle? Red is a bold, attention-getting color, so preferring this type of car might mean you want to project an image of power, action, and confidence."

Reflection

During my design process, I was reevaluating, in general, using any service based on their interfaces because after reading "Consentful Zine tech" I want my user to feel safe and not obligated to feel pressure on activating my experimental camera. I don't think it was complicated on creating an interface and attaching to my experimental camera. At the beginning of my process, I thought of creating a Giph for the background, but I think that might distract the user of understanding the conditions before accepting my experimental camera.
